About the Author
Sheila Root is a beading artist and co-owner of Root's Beads along with her husband Richard. She has been in the bead business for twenty years and has taught hundreds of students in wire techniques as well as seed bead techniques and basic and advanced stringing techniques. A former university professor with degrees in design and a certificate in Master Jewelry, she has been designing and selling "wearable art" for many years. Sheila also has a background in textile arts. Other current book titles available include Beaded Ornament Covers, and Beaded Ornament Covers Book 2. Titles coming soon include Beaded Ornament Covers Book 3 and Handmade, Not Homemade.

wire wrapping stones and beads

This book was helpful, the break down of what to use and how to use it was great. However, it was definitely not worth the $16 or $17 dollars, it was very short. The illustrations were nice but the descriptions were a little tough to follow. Overall I am happy with this book, my first wrap came out great, but it is definitely not worth the money.

Learning was easier......

This book is great, especially for beginners. I am not an expert, but there were some things that I skipped over, because I was already familiar with. The very best part of the book, was the way the author taught, answering all the ' whys' and 'hows'. I cannot accept anything at face value, I have to know 'why' it is easier to wrap a slightly irregular stone, than a perfectly shaped one. I learned easier, because of her teaching method.

Nice basic book.

I like the book as it is a very basic book on wirewrapping. It might be a bit expensive for the size but it was what I was looking for. I would recommend it for anyone starting uot on wirewrapping. It shows how to wrap different items, rocks, gems or coins with holes.
