Loved William's "gentle" Dom

Touch My Heart is the second book in the Heart & Soul series by Paloma Beck. It tells the story of William and Aubrey, this time from William’s POV. I wasn’t’ aware that there was a first book from Aubrey’s POV, so I experienced their story for the first time with Touch My Heart. While I will now plan to go back and read Hold My Hand to learn more about Aubrey, reading Touch My Heart did not leave me feeling like there were gaps – or at least not like there were gaps that made the story incomplete.
William is a dominant, and he’s been content with playmates to satisfy his tendencies. But when William sees Aubrey, he not only recognizes in her the spirit of a natural submissive, but there’s something about Aubrey that captivates him in a way he’s never experienced, and William starts to think about the kind of domestic discipline arrangement like his parents have – a permanence – with Aubrey as is partner.
I loved the chemistry between these two characters. Aubrey’s nature is submissive, but she also has deep-seeded emotional wounds. She trusts William, but her own insecurities keep her somewhat closed off and reticent when it comes to William. Despite his dominant nature and his sometimes frustration with Aubrey for failing to recognize her own beauty and worth, William is both tender and patient (even in punishment) as he nurtures Aubrey’s inner-submissive.
I must warn the reader that the story ends on a rather shocking cliffhanger. I kept watching my percent meter and was starting to become a little concerned as I hit the 90% mark, as it was clear that the story was really developing and moving along nicely and couldn’t possibly conclude so quickly. Then, BAM! She did it. Paloma Beck ends Touch My Heart without warning. The conclusion of the series – Heal My Soul – is scheduled for release this summer.

better then the first

I got this book from the author for an honest review.
First I must begin this review with a SCREAM to the author....Shaking my fist....I yell..".PALOMA!!! you can't leave me hanging like this!!!!".....
Ok now with the review.....So I fell head over heals with William when I read the first book in this series. He is a Dominant who knows what he wants and he wants Aubrey. The first book of the series is all Aubrey's POV. We learn why she is so insecure and how William get her over it. This book is Williams POV. We see him grow more and more in love with Aubrey as she grows more and more confident in herself. There is overlap between the books but I loved it. I remembered the scenes and where Aubrey's head was so it is cool to see William's take on everything.
This book does take you out past book one to see William and Aubrey finally admitting their love for each other. I will admit to tears at that point. We, the reader, knows how they feel but to finally see it.....priceless.......
William finally gets to take his little elf home to meet his parents. no shock that they adore her!! She also is supportive of everything he is dealing with in terms of his mother...sniff sniff......I was glad when William got to finally talk to Aubrey's parent to see how AWFUL they are in regards to her.
I was so happy with the way this book was moving and grooving that when the last few pages are read I had to back track and re-read to make sure I read it right. I was GASPING at this cliffhanger....I didn't see it coming and I will tell you that I cannot wait to see what the heck happens!!!

Touch my Heart is the second book in the Heart and Soul series and provides William’s side of the story to Hold my Hand. What was great about this story is how the author wove in a few BDSM 101 points for those readers who are not as acclimatized to the BDSM lifestyle, as well as defuse some of the immediate assumptions associated with it. This story is a perfect introduction to the BDSM world for those curious but cautious about BDSM related books.
William is a dominant that wants what his parents have; someone special to live in a domestic discipline relationship. His search is over now that he has discovered Aubrey, who he believes to be a natural submissive. William must slowly seduce and persuade Aubrey she needs him just as much as he has grown to need her.
Although there is the underlining need to dominate, William surprised me by how gentle and calming he was with Aubrey. *shivers* I could almost hear his deep velvet voice soothing me into submission.
I can not wait to find out if William and Aubrey can overcome their demons and begin to heal each other in the next installment!
